Cottage in Truro, Massachusetts
Sited on a low bluff across the street from a beach in Truro, Massachusetts, this house is arranged with the living spaces on the second floor in order to take advantage of the views to the ocean. The house is entered through a stone paved loggia into a gallery space opposite the broad stair up to the living spaces. The stair lands at an upper gallery, which separates the H shaped plan into the living, dining and kitchen spaces on one side from the master bedroom on the other. The guest rooms, garage and utility spaces are located on the first floor. Built on a very tight budget the house has nevertheless been well finished.
